About TuneFind.com

In the Spring of 2005, while watching an episode of Scrubs, I heard a song I liked (Closer, by Joshua Radin), but could not identify. Only a week earlier, I had spent more than an hour scouring the Internet to find the name of a song (Take Five, by Dave Brubeck) I'd heard on The West Wing. If I was having this problem, so were other people. This would be a fun problem to solve.

While I watch some TV and submit those songs, nearly all of the song listings on TuneFind come from our users. TuneFind does not have any special inside source for song information. If it's not listed on the site, then we don't know what it was. Occasionally an incorrect song will be listed for an episode. For popular shows, this incorrect song is usually quickly identified by the flagging system and removed.

TuneFind often has songs listed for episodes within minutes of their appearance on TV. This flexibility requires us to have an advanced system for identifying which submissions are accurate and which are inaccurate.

flagging songs

In the example above, "Lay With Me" has not yet been verified. By clicking on the green flag, you indicate that you believe the song did appear in the episode. Clicking on the red flag indicates that you think the information is incorrect. The green check mark next to "Lonely No More" means that the TuneFind community believes that song is correct. After submitting a song, you may remove the submission, as seen next to "Pour Some Sugar On Me."

Over time, TuneFind will calculate how accurate you are in flagging songs. The more accurate your flags the more influence your flags have in marking future songs as verified or removing them as incorrect.
