The Cinematic Orchestra’s ‘To Build a Home’ Tops THR’s June Top TV Songs Chart

Top TV songs in June also includes music from Sylvan Esso, Dion, Death From Above 1979, Bishop Briggs, Dean Lewis, Ingrid Michaelson, Hudson Mohawke and Remy Banks, Robin Trower, and Rag’n’Bone Man.

Orange Is the New Black boosted 3 songs onto The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV songs chart for June, including The Cinematic Orchestra’s “To Build A Home.” Here at Tunefind, we provide data for the THR chart and we suspected it would rank high after it rocketed to the top of our weekly chart.

While binge-watching sessions of OITNB clearly influenced the most recent chart, there were a couple of other big events in the world of television during June. After 7 seasons, fans said goodbye to tv music powerhouse Pretty Little Liars, which featured over 1100 songs throughout the series (music supervisor: Chris Mollere). Another of Mollere’s projects, The Originals, aired the season 4 finale (but will be back next season, don’t worry!).

June also brought two big finales for HBO: The series finale for The Leftovers, which featured almost 300 songs across three seasons (music supervisor: Liza Richardson). Plus the season finale for Silicon Valley, and the release of a soundtrack album for the show (music supervisor: HTGR).

It wasn’t all goodbyes in June. We also saw the mid-season return of Shadowhunters on Freeform (music supervisor: Lindsay Wolfington). We might even see some music from that show again on the July chart, following the soundtrack release this month. And Starz’ American Gods brought back a classic song for another trip on the charts (music supervisor: Brian Reitzell).
