Katherine interrupts Thomas and Meredith to explain all she has overcome when the piano intro begins. Daigle’s lyrics join in and overlap with Richard’s voiceover as the nurses come together. Daigle’s sparse piano grows to a choir-backed refrain as Catherine calls Richard, and Jackson drinks by the fire. Maggie texts Meredith as Daigle sings solo once again. ‘Rescue’ fades out as Meredith receives a call from Richard and the episode ends.

Released on September 7, 2018 under Centricity Music label, Lauren Daigle worked on her sophomore album, Look Up Child, with co-collaborators Jason Ingram and Paul Mabury. Lauren’s plan was to return to the basics by incorporating live musicians and a string section to avoid anything manufactured. A centerpiece of the thirteen-song track list, ‘Rescue’ sends out a message of hope and community.

“Creating Look Up Child allowed me to re-discover what I love about music and cemented my resolve that this is what I am meant to do with my life,” Daigle told The Christian Beat. “I put so much in to this record and I hope it shows.”

‘Rescue’ illustrates just how hard Lauren pushed herself on this album. Back to basics and back to her Louisiana roots, this soulful track showcases her blues-inspired vocals. The vulnerability and power of her voice is reminiscent of Adele and Amy Winehouse. Lauren’s expressive tone and extensive vocal range are only enhanced by the choir supporting the anthem-like chorus of this song.

Daigle’s ability to connect with her audience has made her the fastest-selling new artist in the Contemporary Christian genre over the last decade. She has catapulted to the top of the charts in the span of the last three years with a platinum-certified full-length debut album in 2015 called How Can It Be, three Billboard awards, two Grammy’s, and numerous other awards and nominations, across both Christian and contemporary charts.

With such fast fame, Lauren remains humble and thankful sharing, “Music can exist for a moment, and then have the power to live legacies long,” she continues. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to passionately throw myself into what I love – my music,” she adds. “This outpouring of support overwhelms me. Thank you to everyone for listening to, and connecting with, Look Up Child.”

Lauren Daigle recently appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show to perform ‘Still Rolling Stones’ and on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of title track ‘Look Up Child.’
