And Now Our Watch Has Ended: Farewell to Game of Thrones
The emotionally-compelling score and Westerosi folk songs have been a crucial element to help transport Game of Thrones fans to the realm of the Seven Kingdoms. Starting back in 2011, from the very first scene of the premiere episode, the soundtrack commanded audience attention. Over the past 8 seasons, both original score by composer Ramin Djawadi and those “traditional” songs have accompanied revenge, victory, death, and the haunting end credits.
Tunefind fans have ardently searched to get every last bit of GoT music before the series comes to a close.
To the delight–and demand–of Tunefind fans, many Game of Thrones originals have been released. The most recent being the Tunefind Top TV song from two weeks ago, ‘The Night King’ by composer Ramin Djawadi which was released right after ‘The Long Night’ aired on April 28th. Another big release was the record-breaking Top TV song from the previous week, ‘Jenny of Oldstones’ performed by Florence + the Machine, joining a handful of other Westerosi singles from along the way.
GoT fans do have one thing to celebrate: Djawadi has announced that there will be a 20-date concert tour later this year, featuring his work from all eight seasons. Djawadi himself will lead the orchestras at Jones Beach Theater in New York on Sept. 14; at Five Point Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif. on Oct. 4; and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Oct. 5. The previous Game of Thrones Live tour in 2017/2018 featured a full orchestra, choir, and projected images from the series.
