Top Unreleased TV Syncs of 2019

Here at Tunefind we’re looking back at some of the highlights from 2019, including the top movie soundtracks, top new TV shows driving music discovery, top tv syncs, and most popular artists on Tunefind. Check out our handy compilation of all our year-end coverage at Round Up: Tunefind’s Best of 2019.

Pretty much every week here at Tunefind we’ve got fans in a frenzy over an unreleased song that was just featured on a show or in a movie. We’ve reached out to lots of indie artists, sync reps, and labels over the years to help get those tracks out on major streaming and purchase platforms – and to the fans.

But there are always some that are really hard to find. Here is the list of some of the most sought-after still unreleased tracks on Tunefind in 2019.

 

10. Featured on The Magicians

A whole series of cast performances have been popular with fans of The Magicians, but this one is top of the list from the most recent season.

 

9. Featured on Animal Kingdom

The Math Club are behind a bunch of custom music for tv, movies, and ads, including this track from Animal Kingdom that had fans hunting down details.

 

8. Featured on Euphoria

Fortunately, Labrinth released a soundtrack album featuring his original songs and score for Euphoria. But fans are still waiting on this track from Lolo Zouaï. *NOW RELEASED!

 

7. Featured on Grown-ish

The Voice alum Jacquie Lee must be hard at work on new music, and hopefully this track will be released on an upcoming album.

 

6. Featured on Sex Education

Hit Netflix series Sex Education featured a bunch of Furman’s already released tracks, but there were also several he wrote specifically for the show. Furman even had a cameo in the show, performing at the dance.

 

5. Featured on Lucifer

Fans are used to Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) breaking into song on Lucifer, but this time it was Maze (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt) who took the stage, with this cover of the Oasis hit ‘Wonderwall.’ *NOW RELEASED!

 

4. Featured on The Blacklist

The Blacklist is a perennial Tunefind trending song chart favorite, so no surprise fans have be eager to get their hands on this soulful track by Ethan Burns. He recently released a new single, ‘Space Cowboy,’ so there’s hope this one will be released at some point…

 

3. Featured on Lucifer

And here’s Lucifer himself. Or rather the multitalented Tom Ellis, who performed this cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ on this most recent season of the beloved show saved by Netflix. With one more season to come, wouldn’t it be lovely for the fans if we could get a soundtrack album? (His version of ‘Sinnerman’ from season 1 is still insanely popular on Tunefind.) *NOW RELEASED!

 

2. Featured on Sex Education

Another of those unreleased original songs by Ezra Furman. Fans wonder if there will there be more of Furman’s music in the upcoming second season of Sex Education, set to hit Netflix on January 17th… *NOW RELEASED!

With three of our most popular unreleased tracks, is it any wonder Sex Education set Tunefind records for the most traffic for a new show premiere? *NOW RELEASED!

 

Honorable Mention: Featured on YOU

Not technically 2019, but fans really discovered YOU – and it’s amazing soundtrack – after it hit Netflix at the tail end of 2018. And yes, it really is Bell Biv Dafoe. (Not Bell Biv DeVoe, of ‘Poison’ fame.) Trust us – we’ve confirmed direct with the music supervisor. And they really don’t exist anywhere.

 

We’d love to tell you that we could snap our fingers and make these songs magically appear on your favorite streaming service. But sometimes it just doesn’t work that way. There might be something weird about who owns the rights to the music. Sometimes the track is slated for an album release that’s coming… eventually. Or maybe it’s a side project by some artists who don’t ever plan to release the music. Maybe the artists will hear this final plea and release the songs above, or we might just need to learn to live with disappointment.
