As the life-saving surgery begins, ‘Wake Me Up’ is heard. While the surgery is underway a Grey’s doctor and Station 19 firefighter light a candle in the hospital chapel, waiting for an update.

“[It’s] always difficult to find a song that carries tension and hope at the same time,” shared Grey’s Anatomy music supervisor Kasey Truman. “‘Wake Me Up’ by Josh Ronen does just that for us in these scenes.”

‘Wake Me Up’ is a newly released single from earlier this month. The song was written by acoustic pop singer/songwriter Josh Ronen and Selah Rauwolf.

Josh Ronen was born and raised in the greater Chicago area and began playing music when he was 16 years old. He attended Berklee College of Music before moving to Nashville. Ronen has written and produced for many up-and-coming artists while also performing as a solo artist.

The 27 year old has been influenced by classic artists such as Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens, as well as contemporary artist John Mayer. In 2016, Ronen began working with music legend Michael Omartian. Over the past four years, Ronen has released six singles and continues to plan performances.
