Top TV Song Last Week: We Are Infinite by The Lighthouse and The Whaler
The season finale of Amazon Prime Video’s animated superhero series Invincible claims the top TV song last week with an emotional track from an indie rock band.

Near the end of the episode, the sun rises after the day the world changed. Aerial views of the city are accompanied by ‘We Are Infinite’ as a montage begins. Everyone is feeling the devastation of the previous day as the song quietly builds with the emotion and uncertainty of what’s to come.
The Lighthouse and The Whaler was originally formed by Michael LoPresti with former members Evan Storey and Steve Diaz in 2008. The trio released a single titled ‘The Field Song’, EP A Whisper, a Clamour, and 2009 self-produced and released debut album The Lighthouse and the… which was supported by performances at SXSW 2010 and The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
Bassist Ryan Walker, keyboardist/guitarist Mark Porostosky, and drummer/Michael’s brother Matthew LoPresti are the current members, along with vocalist/guitarist Michael LoPresti.
In 2012, The Lighthouse and The Whaler released a three-song EP Pioneers followed by an album called This Is An Adventure. The band received praise from Spotify, with their single ‘I Want To Feel Alive’ receiving over 7 million streams, as well as NPR and Rolling Stone, calling the album “a sincere and imaginative effort.” After the success of This Is An Adventure, the band released the Venice Remix EP in 2014.
The Lighthouse and The Whaler began working on their 2015 album Mont Royal, which features last week’s top TV song ‘We Are Infinite,’ in January that year and it was released seven months later. The Lighthouse and The Whaler spent 2016 touring and by the end of 2017 they released their EP Paths. The following year they released two singles ‘Into The Unknown’ and ‘Future Bling’. In 2020, the group released three more singles and their new EP Brothers (B-Sides). Last month, The Lighthouse and The Whaler released their latest single ‘When We Meet’.
‘We Are Infinite’ was previously featured in Grey’s Anatomy season 14 and Frequency season 1. The Lighthouse and The Whaler has had sync placements in the 2020 film Clouds, Gossip Girl and many other TV shows and movies.
