For the third consecutive week, HBOMax’s Euphoria features the most popular song on Tunefind last week. The melancholy track is by an American alternative rock band, Mazzy Star.

‘Quiet, The Winter Harbor’ begins as Cassie packs a bag and heads downstairs to meet Nate. Cassie leaves her house with a suitcase and gets into Nate’s car as the breathy and melodic vocals of Mazzy Star come in. The song continues as Nate and Cassie are alone in Nate’s room before transitioning to Jules watching a video on her computer. Lexi wakes up to see Cassie’s bed is empty and the song ends.

Last week’s top song, ‘Quiet, The Winter Harbor’ was released on the 2018 EP Still. The track was also released as a single in the same year. Still is the latest release from Mazzy Star.

Mazzy Star is led by guitarist David Roback and vocalist Hope Sandoval. They’re best known for their 1994 hit ‘Fade Into You’. Since 1990, the band has released four albums, two EPs, and numerous singles. Mazzy Star took a 17 year hiatus before releasing their 2013 comeback album, Seasons of Your Day which featured a guest appearance on the track ‘Spoon’ by the legendary British folk guitarist, Bert Jansch.

David Roback first played with the band Rain Parade before moving on to the group, Opal. Roback came across Hope Sandoval and she replaced Kendra Smith in Opal. In 1990, they adopted the name Mazzy Star and released their debut album She Hangs Brightly. Sadly, David Roback passed away in February 2020.

Mazzy Star has had placements in TV shows including Cruel Summer, The Blacklist, The Sopranos, and many more. Mazzy Star has had songs featured in movies as well such as Chasing Mavericks (2012), End of Watch (2012), and numerous others.
