Stephen Sanchez tops Billboard’s Top TV Song Chart
January’s artist spotlight is singer-songwriter, Stephen Sanchez. Sanchez is blazing trails as he makes a name for himself as a charming modern-day crooner with an old-school cool sound. Stephen is spring-boarding off TikTok popularity and onto stages across the country as he embarks on his first headlining tour. Sanchez’s career-launching hit ‘Until I Found You’ appears on multiple top song charts.

Stephen Sanchez topped Billboard’s January top TV songs chart with ‘Until I Found You’ after the song was placed in Season 2 of Netflix’s hit series Ginny & Georgia. Audiences heard the track in both episodes 9 and episode 10 of the series’ sophomore season. Both placements accompany emotional and plot-driven scenes however, it is the season finale placement that had fans buzzing the loudest. The song accompanies a bride’s time-honored walk down the aisle in the season finale. Since the song’s single release in September 2021, it has made the rounds on TikTok and is often used by creators to reinforce romance. The swoon-worthy track currently boasts over 5 million streams on Spotify.

Originally from Northern California, Stephen moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in late 2020 to pursue his music. Sanchez steadily gained popularity in 2020 while posting alluring covers of songs like ‘Cigarette Daydreams’ by Cage The Elephant and even originals such as ‘Lady By The Sea.’ Singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker reached out to Sanchez after hearing ‘Lady By The Sea’ and offered to produce the official version. ‘Lady’ was officially released in July 2020, resulting in Sanchez signing a deal with Republic Records.
The version of ‘Until I Found You’ in Ginny & Georgia features vocals from artist Em Beihold. In April 2022, the duet version was released on Spotify and boasts over 2 million Spotify streams. Em is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who has also captivated crowds on the road and opened for the likes of King Princess, AJR, Jonas Brothers, and Lewis Capaldi. Beihold, who added her own original verse to Sanchez’s track explained, “The first time I heard ‘Until I Found You’ I literally did a double take. Stephen’s voice is insane and when I got the opportunity to feature on it there was no question. I’m so honored to be on it!”
Stephen released his debut 7-track EP, Easy On My Eyes, in August 2022. Sanchez kicked off his tour at the top of 2023, with his shows scheduled between now and May ‘23 being completely sold out. Although it’s not too late to get tickets, with shows booked through December, which Sanchez has said, “is going to change everything. It’s going to feel like you’ve stepped into the ’50s and ’60s.”
